CGA Saskatchewan is looking for volunteers for the 2011 Conference and Annual General Meeting! We have a variety of volunteer positions and times available, ranging from short PDC/MRC shifts to the social Registration Desk area and the late-night Hospitality Suite shifts. Please see below for further details on each of the positions available.
Members and Students interested in volunteering are asked to complete a Volunteer Form indicating which days and times you are available. Scheduling for volunteers is on a first-come, first-serve basis, so get your form in soon! Members will receive NV11 hours for their volunteer activities with Conference. Volunteer Positions
Professional Development Certifier (PDC)
• Ensures attendees are registered for the session
• Directs those not registered to the registration desk
• Ensures attendees sign in
• Marks off attendee names on the PDC list
• Provides both the sign-in and PDC lists to the registration desk after the session has begun
• Can volunteer in this regard even if attending that session
Needed: Wed afternoon, Thursday, Friday, Saturday morning
Meal Registrant Certifier (MRC)
• Ensures attendees of meals have registered for that meal
• Directs those not registered to the registration desk
• If the meal also provides PD, ensures attendees sign in
• Marks off attendee names on the MRC list
• Helps set up for supper events, such as Fun Night, Keynote Supper, and the Gala Reception
Needed: throughout the Conference, at meal times (breakfast, lunch and supper)
Registration Desk/Runner
• Gathers PD sheets from PDC’s
• Provides check in services to CGA’s and other attendees
• Provides Conference packages to those checking in
• Functions as volunteer and help central
• Normally staffed by 2 persons, and one volunteer may also act as a ‘runner’ when available, to gather items and perform smaller tasks as required
Needed: throughout the entire Conference
Hospitality Suite Volunteer
• Provides drinks/snacks to attendees
• Closes Hospitality Suite
• Update staff regarding supplies
• Reinforce Zero 8 driving
Needed: Thursday, Friday & Saturday, 10:30pm to 1am
Other Volunteer Positions
• Admissions Ceremony Ushers (Saturday)
• Friday Night Social volunteers (Friday)
Volunteers will receive:
• CGA Members will receive 1 non-verifiable PD hour for every hour they volunteer during Conference. They must sign in with the Registration Desk for these hours to be credited.
• CGA Students will receive attendance at 1 session during the Conference for every 6 hours of volunteer work provided. They must sign in with the Registration Desk for these hours to be credited.
