Internationally Trained Accountants Program

CGA is committed to supporting the Canadian education and training of Foreign Trained Accountants. Through our program outlined below, individuals who have immigrated to Saskatchewan can take advantage of the CGA Program of Professional Studies to bridge their education and to obtain relevant skills that Canadian employers are looking for.

Full-Time Internationally Trained Accountants Program (ITAP)

Students of this government funded program will have the opportunity to complete the Foundation and Advanced components of the CGA Program at an accelerated pace, while also gaining approximately 3 months of hands-on work experience. This program is designed to bridge the gap between international education in accounting and Canadian regulations combined with the CGA Program components. This provides students with the opportunity to complete in one year what typically takes four years of part-time study. Successful students will be awarded the CGA Saskatchewan Foundation Studies in Accounting Diploma and will be eligible to enroll directly into the PACE level of the CGA Program.

Currently this pilot project has completed and a report has been issued to the Ministry of Advanced Education Employment and Immigration.  The Association is working toward determining a start date for the next run of this project.
